Each student must have access to a multimedia computer in order to utilize Telos training media, complete written assignments, and send homework files to tutors through email.

Recommended hardware standards for a Macintosh system include a PPC 603e, 180 MHz or faster processor, 16 MB RAM or more, 1.2 G or greater hard drive, 12x or faster CD-ROM, built-in sound (full duplex), 33.6 Kbps or faster modem, 15" or larger SVGA color monitor (.28 mm dot pitch), speakers, keyboard, microphone, and mouse.
Internet Service Provider
Each student is connected to the Internet and electronic mail through an Internet Service Provider (ISP). Effective communication depends largely on an ISP that supports attached files of at least 4 MB and a modem operating speed of 2.8 KB/second or faster.
The Telos Institute International recommends CharacterLink ® as an ISP because it provides both access to the sites needed for Telos and protection from damaging content, such as pornography and profanity, while meeting Telos file attachment requirements. For more information, contact CharacterLink ® at email@example.com , 888-330-8678 or visit the Characterlink web site at www.characterlink.net
Because America Online ® (AOL ®), JunoTM, Juno WebTM, and Hotmail ® support file attachments of minimal size, Telos is unable to accept those who employ these companies as primary Internet Service Providers (ISPs). The student must meet email requirements by the registration deadline.
Each student must use either Microsoft ® Word or Corel ® WordPerfect ® (minimum version 6 for both) for word-processing assignments. Minimum operating systems are Windows ® 95 for PC and System 7 for the Macintosh ® . The student is responsible to obtain his own software (available through university bookstores or directly from the distributor). Required software must be purchased before registration.
During his Telos studies, the student receives many files formatted in Adobe® Acrobat® . For this reason, the student is required to download the free Adobe® Acrobat® Reader. Information pertaining to the download process is forwarded to the student upon acceptance.
